关于Digitalocean VPS自动备份的收费问题

在网上查都说他家的自动备份要收取你购买服务费用的1/5的费用，就提了个Tickets问一下，顺便问了下镜像和备份的却别很快有了答复：

Hello,

Currently we are not charging for backups, and until we make a big announcement about it-- we will NOT be charging for backups.

When we do start charging, the pricing will be 20% of the droplet; so for a $5 droplet-- backup would be $1 per month. For a $20 droplet-- backup would be $4 per month.

As for the difference between snapshots and backups, backups are run while the droplet is up and running. They are very useful if you want to have a point to quickly and easily restore your droplet to.

Snapshots, however, are better suited for creating an image of your droplet that you would like to deploy onto other droplets. Snapshots DO, however, require the droplet to be powered down.
